WELCOME TO
Julie Hewings Therapy

Hello, I’m Julie. Thank you for taking the time to look at my web-site.
Looking for a therapist can be a big step. Lots to understand and navigate. Making the decision to seek therapy is the first step to making positive change, and finding the right therapist for you is an important one. For some people it’s helpful to know this is your time, your pace, your direction – the whole process is tailored entirely to fit you.
I hold the belief that counselling can help us begin to see that what may appear to be a hopeless problem can also be a message from a deeper part of ourselves, and with acceptance and understanding we can move beyond the patterns of the past, and towards a greater sense of our own authenticity; a space where we can truly believe we are worthy of love, belonging and connection, not only from others but more importantly towards ourselves. With this understanding we have the possibilities to allow a greater vitality and joy into our lives
I bring a warmth to the counselling room which allows my clients a safe place to explore whatever they bring. For me, it’s incredibly important that I am trustworthy, genuine and caring, so that you can to talk openly about what you need to, and I can respond sensitively and creatively to what I hear.
Finally, I have a broad depth of understanding which has evolved over many years of professional service. My approach to counselling draws on a range of trainings and disciplines, and I sometimes use guided meditation, relaxation techniques, creativity and imagery, as part of my work.
I chose the dandelion as the symbol for my counselling service because it represents resilience, strength, and growth. Despite often being overlooked, the dandelion thrives in challenging conditions and continues to flourish. Its seeds are only released when they are ready,
reflecting an important aspect of counselling: meaningful change happens in its own time and cannot be rushed.
To me, the dandelion symbolises the inner strength that every client possesses, even when they may not recognise it themselves. Just as the dandelion waits for the right moment to release its seeds, counselling is most effective when a person feels ready to explore, heal, and grow. The journey may be challenging, but with the right support, it can lead to new posabilities, renewed hope, and lasting change.
